I need some help with playing guitar?
I own a Fender Squier Bullet and my amp is a Crate(not sure about what kind of Crate though).I have a few questions. One, when i try and play hammer-ons and pulloffs even with my guitar connected to the amp, they dont work, but looking at different FAQS, they all just say that you just release pressure to another finger/place pressure higher up on another fret while keeping pressure on the lower fret. I try that, but it still doesnt sound right. Also, is there any technique for strummimg fast with precision? I can strum fairly fast but its all more random strumming than anything else. I am not sure on how to go about getting this all to work out for me. Also, what is the easiest way to learn chord changes? i can play chords, but i cant change them at all without taking a long time in between them. any and all help is appreciated. and thanks ahead of time
Aw man, all your concerns can be addressed with hours put in.
Nothing else. Hammer ons require a hard finger attack. Pull offs can be done on the cheap by 'popping' the string as you pull it.
When strumming, typically try to use the left had to control some of the strings to reduce 'noise.'
All stringed instruments are about technique, and that takes time. Muscle memory and all that. Chord changes are ALL ABOUT muscle memory. Getting past your frustration is only the first step, but you'll need to do that over and over as every new thing will be like that until you break through that point. I know it is frustrating and time consuming, but if it was as easy as Guitar Hero, it wouldn't be a real instrument. Hang in there.
